Not since July 8 2006 have the Balmain Dockers proudly sung the club song so on the weekend after their victory over Woolongong they sung the song twice. The last win was also against Wollongong however after taking control of the game in the second and third quarters the club ran out convincing winners 19.13.127 to 8.15.63.

Young Frematle player Chris Mayne who was recruited from Perth in the 2007 National Draft at selection 40 has just resigned with the club. The 19-year-old is the third Fremantle player from the 2007 National Draft to commit to the Club until 2010, joining fellow draftees Rhys Palmer and Clayton Hinkley

Des Headland is expected to miss the next six to eight weeks of football after meeting with two orthopaedic surgeons today and it was determined that surgery is necessary to repair the injury to his left knee. The arthroscope procedure will be carried out later in the week.

The third of Fremantle's impressive recruits in last years draft has agreed to extend his contract until 2010. Chris Mayne was recruited from Perth at pick 40 and since then has impressed both for the demons and the dockers. The 19-year-old joins fellow draftees Clayton Hinkley and Rhys Palmer who have already agreed to terms until 2010.

The Dockers 2008 season, has been dealt another serious blow, with news that Des Headland's season may be over with scans set to reveal the full extent of a knee injury in coming days.
